Seven Day MVP

Idea #4: Hotspots for podcasts

Episode Summary

Think about your podcast experience today. It sucks. We know. - 60-minute episodes, but 20 minutes worth of value. - Hosts speaking AT you, instead of letting you join the conversation. - Want to leave a comment for the host? Back to Twitter you go. - Need to take notes? There's a separate app for that. But what if you knew where the best parts were in every episode? What if you could start a discussion around your favorite moments, and invite your friends to join the conversation? What if as the host, you knew which parts your audience loved the most? Join us as we flip the podcast experience on its head.

Episode Notes

It’s no surprise, we listen to A LOT of podcasts. Yet the community around podcasts is scattered and the experience is broken.

So, as listeners and creators, we set out to find a way to connect the missing pieces, smooth out the kinks, and conceptualize a podcasting experience that's better for everyone involved.

In the middle of our chat we stumbled across airr.io, an iOS app that seems to be addressing this exact problem. Great minds think alike.

We explore what they did right, discover more opportunities, and build upon it with unique features that benefit the host, their listeners, and even the podcast platforms themselves.
